Bluetooth + Cellphone + Laptop = Wireless Internet for under $6/month
This tutorial will describe how to set up a GPRS GSM Phone as a Mobile Modem. More specifically, how to use a Nokia 6103 (with T-Mobile’s $5.99 T-Zones Internet service) as a GPRS modem that you can connect to using the Bluetooth connection of an Apple MacBook running Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.7). I set out to do this last week, and I never did find a specific tutorial for it, but by using about 5 different sources, I was able to get connected. If you have a different phone, or a different computer, this tutorial may still be useful.
Setting up the Phone:
For the phone, we’re going to need to set up a new APN or Access Point.
